As Crop Specialist / Horticulturist, you will serve as the technical backbone behind our products. You will support farmers and our sales team in the field, resolve crop challenges on customer farms, answer technical questions on fertigation, planting, and seed varieties, and run multi-location variety trials to guide our product recommendations.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical support to customers and the sales team on crop production and input selection.
- Visit customer farms across Nigeria to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve crop issues.
- Advise growers and dealers on fertigation, nutritional programs, planting density, and seed characteristics.
- Plan, run, and manage crop variety trials; record and analyze performance metrics
- Translate field trial data into clear product recommendations and technical guides for the team.
Must Have
- Degree or HND in Agronomy, Horticulture, Crop Science, or a related field
- 3 to 6 years of hands-on technical farming or commercial horticulture experience
- Solid technical knowledge of fertigation systems, crop nutrition, and seed characteristics
- Proven ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to farmers, dealers, and team members
- Valid Driver’s License and full willingness to travel regularly to farm sites across Nigeria
Nice to have
- Direct experience establishing and managing multi-location seed variety trials
- Fluency or conversational proficiency in a Nigerian language (e.g., Hausa, Yoruba)
- Previous experience in agricultural input technical sales or farmer extension support
- Practical experience with vegetable crops (capsicum, tomato, cucumber, etc.)
